Yesterday, June 23, our friends from Phoenix,  drove up to meet us.  We first met them in St. Maarten many years ago and have remained good friends ever since.

Here's the four of us together.

Larry and Jeannie have been to Sedona several times and after lunch, they took us on a riding tour all over Sedona.

Cathedral Rock

Coffee Pot Rock
We ate lunch at the Coffee Pot restaurant which in the valley below the coffee pot rock.

Munds Mountain

Bell Rock

The following are views of the valley and Sedona from this hillside.

Us with the Red Rocks of Sedona behind us.

This is steamboat rock up close and personal.

We thought that this looked like a ninja turtle!!

The Courthouse

Sedona is a very artsy place, with alot of gallaries and craft stores.  There are statues like this one of the man and boy, all though the town.

It is amazing what grows in the rocks.

This is the Chapel of the Holy Cross.  It is built into the side of the rock.  The rarely have mass here.  Once a year the Bishop will come and say mass.  The idea and planning started back in 1932 but the actual construction was not completed until 1956.  I was very proud of Bernie - he climbed all the way up without his scooter or cane!!

This hanging was actually a rug.  There was another one on the opposite wall.

Side of chapel

Very impressive!!!

This is a mansion just below the Chapel.  It looks like it has an observatory on top, a waterfalls to the left and 4 car garage.  Almost as impressive as the Chapel (NOT!!)  I did say almost.

Here I am at the campground.  They had this nice fire circle but because of the severe drought, no campfires were allowed.

When we came across Colorado and stopped a Four Corners, I noticed that the top front of the camper's seam had busted loose and insulation was coming out.  So in the Navajo Reservation, we stopped and got duck tape and I tried to tape it.  I was successful but it only lasted until Sedona.  Sooo I got up top again to retape it.  Here I am on the roof.

Before I could start my repair, our neighbor came up and told me to get down.  Here he is doing the repair.

Unfortunately, his repair didn't quite make it to the KOA at the Grand Canyon.  We called in the professional and we are now all fixed.

On Sunday, we are taking a van tour to the Grand Canyon.  Tomorrow, we will rest by the pool.  Still having a blast!!!

Nice to meet your friends. Sedona is beautiful! And I had to laugh at the one picture of you & Dad. It looks like he has two red ears coming out of his head! It's actually cute!
Hope you get some rest at the pool and looking forward to your pics of the Grand Canyon. I've only flown over it how many times but never been there! :-(
