July 7, we sadly said goodbye to our friends, Richard and Anne.  We had an amazing 5 days with them.  It was like being at a bed and breakfast except Anne fed us dinners.  Again thanks a million for very needed rest and nice sightseeing time.  We hit our first delay of the whole trip at the Portland Airport exit off of US 84.  It was cloudy, and windy.  The Columbia River was very rough.  There were some wind surfers on the river.  I'm glad when we came, it was sunny and calm.  It looked like a different river.

We stopped at the Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge Area.  The falls is the second tallest year-round falls.  Bernie took his scooter but couldn't walk to the bridge because of the 10 steps and no ramp-after the steps it was all ramp .2 mile up to the bridge.  If you wanted to hike to the top of the falls, it was a mile.  I stopped at the bridge.  Here are some pictures of the falls.

Then we left for Glacier National Park in Montana.  The wind was so strong, Bernie felt like he was fighting a bull so we didn't make Spokane Washington.  We stopped in Pasco Washington.

In Kennewick Washington, we crossed the Columbia River.  Thought these bridges looked cool.
